Joost Meijs is the Chief Executive Officer of Aruba Airport Authority N.V. since September 2019. Prior to working in Aruba, Mr. Meijs was for 11 years the Chief Executive Officer of Eindhoven Airport N.V. in the Netherlands.
Prior to working in the aviation sector, Mr. Meijs had several senior management positions in the exposition & trade fair industry at VNU Exhibitions Europe in the Netherlands and at Jaarbeurs Brasil Ltda in Brazil. Mr. Meijs is an experienced Chief Executive Officer with over 20 years of experience in senior leadership and board positions (as executive and nonexecutive). Mr. Meijs graduated from the Economic Faculty at the University of Groningen.
The Dutch Caribbean Cooperation of Airports (DCCA) is organizing the 1stInternational Sustainable Air Transportation event called “A Flight To The Future” in Aruba in November 2022. A one-week event filled with presentations, panel discussion, masterclasses and test flight demonstrations with the Pipistrel Velis Electro, the first certified electric aircraft, all with the purpose of sharing knowledge, creating dialogue on the future of aviation and on interisland connectivity in the Dutch Caribbean.
