Geert Boosten has over 34 years of experience in the airport business and is an all-round airport expert with special interest in airport strategy and development, master planning and optimizing the added value of the airport for the region. Geert has worked for Schiphol Airport and as a consultant for many airports abroad.
Nowadays, he is professor of Aviation Management at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. He is also a board member of DEAC (Dutch Electric Aviation Centre) and a board member of Sustainable Aviation in the Netherlands. Both entities focus on General Aviation and the development of electric aviation as a new mobility. Within DEAC Geert’s focus is on the impact of electric aviation on airports such as safety, charging facilities, energy management as well as development of a new curriculum for professionals in electric aviation.
The Dutch Caribbean Cooperation of Airports (DCCA) is organizing the 1stInternational Sustainable Air Transportation event called “A Flight To The Future” in Aruba in November 2022. A one-week event filled with presentations, panel discussion, masterclasses and test flight demonstrations with the Pipistrel Velis Electro, the first certified electric aircraft, all with the purpose of sharing knowledge, creating dialogue on the future of aviation and on interisland connectivity in the Dutch Caribbean.
