Veronique Kirstmaker
Since one year, I work as a Senior Policy Officer on Sustainable Aviation at the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management. I work in the team ‘Knowledge and Innovation’ and I focus on stimulating and implementing the new propulsion technologies like: (hybrid) electric flying and flying on hydrogen.
I have been working for the central government for about 8 years and I have working experience at several other Ministries, as well as the House of Representatives of the Netherlands. I’ve been interested in aviation since I was a young kid and I’m very glad that I can contribute to sustainable aviation with my policy background. I’m very proud to present the results of Ampaire’s study on flying (hybrid) electric between the ABC-islands.

The Dutch Caribbean Cooperation of Airports (DCCA) is organizing the 1stInternational Sustainable Air Transportation event called “A Flight To The Future” in Aruba in November 2022. A one-week event filled with presentations, panel discussion, masterclasses and test flight demonstrations with the Pipistrel Velis Electro, the first certified electric aircraft, all with the purpose of sharing knowledge, creating dialogue on the future of aviation and on interisland connectivity in the Dutch Caribbean.
