Dr. Yamil Lasten
Dr. Yamil Lasten is Chief Executive Officer of Curoil N.V. and its subsidiaries Curgas N.V., Curoil Gas Stations N.V., Curoil (Bonaire) N.V. and Curoil Aruba N.V. Prior to assuming his current role, Dr. Lasten held various senior management positions with key players in the telecommunication sector and the utility sector on Curaçao.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Lasten was a business consultant and lecturer at The University of Curaçao. He also served on the supervisory boards of various government owned companies related to the oil industry and is currently serving on the board of one of the largest insurance companies in the region.
Dr. Lasten has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from The University of Curaçao as well as a master’s degree in Technical Innovation Sciences from the Technical University of Eindhoven, the Netherlands. He also has a doctorate degree in Business Administration, with a specialization in Finance, from Walden University.

The Dutch Caribbean Cooperation of Airports (DCCA) is organizing the 1stInternational Sustainable Air Transportation event called “A Flight To The Future” in Aruba in November 2022. A one-week event filled with presentations, panel discussion, masterclasses and test flight demonstrations with the Pipistrel Velis Electro, the first certified electric aircraft, all with the purpose of sharing knowledge, creating dialogue on the future of aviation and on interisland connectivity in the Dutch Caribbean.
