Miles B M Mercera
Miles Mercera is the CEO of Tourism Corporation Bonaire. Born in the Netherlands but raised on the ABC islands in the Dutch Caribbean. Mercera’s educational background includes an Associate Degree in Hotel Management from the Aruba Hotel School, a Bachelor’s Degree in International Hospitality & Tourism Management from the University of Curaçao, and a Master’s Degree in Consultancy & Entrepreneurship from the Rotterdam Business School.
Mercera started his career at just 20 years old at Starwood Hotels & Resorts head office in Holland as the new-bee in Online Marketing & Social Media Marketing and continued to develop himself with the Tourism Board for the island of Bonaire in charge of Online Marketing and later on joined the hotel association in Curaçao as their Marketing & Product advocate. 2017 Miles Mercera was promoted to CEO & President of the Curaçao Hospitality & Tourism Association. Late 2020, Miles took a bold decision to step down from his position and joined political party VISHON as the party’s political leader. In mid-2021 Miles continued his professional career path as an independent tourism professional and is active as a professor at the University of Curacao. Miles currently dedicates his time and energy on the island of Bonaire as the CEO of Bonaire’s Tourism Board (TCB).

The Dutch Caribbean Cooperation of Airports (DCCA) is organizing the 1stInternational Sustainable Air Transportation event called “A Flight To The Future” in Aruba in November 2022. A one-week event filled with presentations, panel discussion, masterclasses and test flight demonstrations with the Pipistrel Velis Electro, the first certified electric aircraft, all with the purpose of sharing knowledge, creating dialogue on the future of aviation and on interisland connectivity in the Dutch Caribbean.
